Of Belarusian descent, Leonard defected from the Russian army five years prior to the events of the story and has been in Michel's army for three years. However, Gerhard still offers him as a possible suspect in the confidential information leak to the Russian army. He is very friendly towards other military personnel, and especially Gerhard.
