Chihiro is a young man living on his own, without any particular goal in life. He meets Kumazawa-sensei by chance, while looking for a vet clinic to take Shiro, his sickly kitten, to. Moved by Kumazawa's ethics and his own desire to help animals, Chihiro agrees to move in and help out at the clinic and sensei's house.
